Total Quality Management of a Medical Residency

Although many hospitals have begun the long and dif ficult process of adapting to the concepts of total quality management, few have reported efforts to apply total quality management to a medical residency. We report here the initial results of the Western Pennsylvania Hos pital's efforts, as part of the hospital's conversion of its management structure to total quality management.
