Quality Assurance Concerns in Joint VenturesDepartment of Ophthalmology, Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood, Illinois The demand for assurance of quality in the delivery of medical care increases every day. The forces influ encing these demands are diverse and numerous. Many operate from disparate points of view with decidedly different goals and methodology. The in formation presented here attempts to provide an ob jective, straightforward, easy to use, valid, and reli able approach to quantify two key elements that need to be evaluated when studying the adequacy of quality as it pertains to medical care. The first of these is the administrative structure and the second is the pa tient's medical care as reflected in the medical record. The procedures presented are adaptable to almost any setting and structure.
